Google Merchant Center: Mismatched value (page crawl) [price] · Mismatched product price · Price mismatch
Google saw a different price on your website
What Google's message means
Googlebot visited the product page and the price it found doesn't match the price in your product data.
Why it matters
Price accuracy is a core Shopping policy. Mismatches disapprove the product and, if they keep happening across many products, can lead to an account warning.
Common causes on Shopify
- A currency converter or geolocation app changes the price shown to Googlebot.
- The price is added by JavaScript after the page loads, so the HTML Google reads has a different or no price.
- Theme structured data (JSON-LD) shows the compare-at price, or the price of the first variant instead of the linked variant.
- A sale started or ended at a different time than your feed says (sale price effective date or time zone).
- Prices changed in Shopify and the Google channel hasn't synced yet.
How to fix it
- 1Open the product URL from Merchant Center in a private window and check the price for that exact variant.
- 2Look for apps that change prices on the page: currency converters, geolocation pricing, upsell or 'compare at' scripts, sale timers.
- 3Make sure the price your feed sends includes or excludes tax the same way your store shows it for that country.
- 4Check that the price is in the page HTML. Google says prices injected by JavaScript after the page loads can trigger this error, and that the price in your structured data must match too (test with the Rich Results Test).
- 5If you run a sale, check the sale price dates and time zone. A sale price that starts or ends at the wrong time shows Google the wrong current price.
- 6If you just changed prices, wait for the next sync. Google re-crawls disapproved products over the next hours or days and reapproves them when the prices match.
In Shopify: Check the variant price in Products and any Markets/currency settings. Business plans get a daily Shopify ↔ Merchant Center price check.
How to stop it coming back
- Avoid apps that rewrite prices on the page for the countries you advertise in, or exclude Googlebot from them.
- Test a few product pages with Google's Rich Results Test after every theme change.
- Compare Shopify prices with what Merchant Center has daily (FlagClear Business does this).
Common questions
- Can price mismatches suspend my account?
- Yes. Google's help says mismatched prices may lead to an account suspension, so fix them quickly even if only some products are affected.
- How long until the product is approved again?
- Google says it re-crawls disapproved products over the next few hours or days and reapproves them when the price on the page matches.
- Do automatic item updates fix this?
- They can keep listings live by updating the price from your page, but they don't fix the cause. Google also advises against automatic price updates if pages show multiple strikethrough prices.
