Google Merchant Center: Not enough information to verify value [price]

Google can't check if your price is realistic

What Google's message means

Google couldn't verify the price, usually because the product is new and Google can't match it to similar offers. Google takes the offer down until it can.

Why it matters

The product won't show until Google can identify it.

Common causes on Shopify

  • The product is new and has no GTIN, brand or MPN.
  • The Google product category is wrong.

How to fix it

  1. 1Add the product's real GTIN (barcode), or its brand and MPN, so Google can match it.
  2. 2Check the Google product category is right.
  3. 3If the price is far below what other sellers charge, check it isn't a typo.
  4. 4Let the channel resync.

In Shopify: The Barcode field on each variant is sent as the GTIN; Vendor is sent as the brand.

How to stop it coming back

  • Send identifiers for every branded product from day one.

Common questions

My product is handmade and has no GTIN. What now?
Send the brand (your store name), an accurate category and identifier_exists = no, and make sure the price on the page matches the feed.
